Details: Adrian Aubrey Charles Taylor (1876-1915) also known as Adrian Aubrey Charles Reid-Taylor, born 25 or 28 September 1876 in Switzerland. Son of A.W. Reid Taylor and Mattie Smallwood of 23 St Aubyn's Road, Upper Norwood, London SE., later of Montreal. brother of Algernon W.H. Reid Taylor (1889-1938).


Attended Mr O.H. Magner's private school, Tunbridge Wells.


Attended Sherborne School (School House) May 1889-December 1894; 6th form; 1st XV rugby football team 1894.


Joined Royal Dublin Fusiliers, 1897; South African War, with Mounted Infantry (wounded, despatches); sometime in Egyptian Army (Order of Medijidie).


WW1, Captain in the Royal Dublin Fusiliers. Appointed Commandant at Port Said in 1914; Provost Marshall of Intelligence to General Staff; later sent to Indian Government to organise an Arab Force in Mesopotamia, at Basra; rejoined his Regiment at the Dardanelles and was killed at Gallipoli on 28 June 1915.
