Details: Henry George Gordon Rutherfurd (1885-1916), born 13 September 1885, son of Rev. H. Rutherfurd and Mrs Rutherfurd, Redclyffe, Torquay, Devon, later of 10, Portland Road, Remuera, Auckland, New Zealand.


Attended Rugby preparatory school.


Attended Sherborne School (Abbeylands) May 1902-April 1905; 6th form.


Attended Queens' College, Cambridge.


Schoolmaster. Elected to the Modern Languages Association at the General Committee held on January 8, 1913: H.G.G. Rutherfurd, B.A., 60, Rue des Ecoles, Paris.


WW1, Private in the Royal Fusiliers (City of London Regiment), 10th Bn. Went to France in July 1915. Killed on 15 July 1916 at the Somme in the advance on Pozieres.
