Details: William Vincent (1867-1914), born in Southampton on 23 July 1867, son of Captain Joseph Henry Vincent (1837-1868), R.N., and Clara Vincent (née Cooper) of Southampton. Husband of Sibyl Davenport Vincent (née Rayner) of Evershot, Dorchester, Dorset.


Privately educated.


Attended Sherborne School (School House) January 1878-1882.


Lieutenant in the 4th Bn., Lincolnshire Regiment, 1886.


WW1, Captain in the Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry, 3rd Bn. (Reserve); attached to the 1st Bn., Royal Welsh Fusiliers. Killed on 30 October 1914 during the retreat from Mons.
