Details: Charles Gordon Bond (1881-1915), born 18 July 1881, son of Rev. J.E. Gordon Bond, of Savernake, Wiltshire, formerly of Ashmore Rectory, Wiltshire; brother of Edward Henry Bond (1879-1894); husband of Dorothy Melian Bond, of Thistledown, Bude, Cornwall.


Attended Woodcote House School, Windlesham, Surrey.


Attended Sherborne School (School House) September 1892-1900; 1st XI cricket team 1900; 1st XV rugby football team 1899.


Attended Trinity College, Cambridge.


Gazetted 2nd Lieutenant to the Wiltshire Regiment in July 1903. Promoted Lieutenant in September 1905, he obtained his company in July 1912. In October 1912 appointed Adjutant to the Territorial Force. Played cricket for his Regiment, Tidworth Garrison and the Free Foresters.


He had been a member of the MCC since 1905.


WW1, Captain and Adjutant in the Duke of Edinburgh's (Wiltshire Regiment) 1/4th Bn. (T.). Killed at Givenchy on 25 November 1915.
