Details: Harry Beckton (1893-1919), born 16 April 1893, son of Ben Beckton and Lillian Beckton (nee Tavener), Frinton-on-Sea, formerly of 62 Threadneedle Street, London.

 

Attended Glengorse Preparatory School, Eastbourne.

 

Attended Sherborne School (Harper House) September 1907-April 1911; 1st XV rugby football team 1910.

 

Attended Ecole de Commerce, Neuchatel.

 

Clerk in stockbroker's office 1913-1914.

 

WW1, Lieutenant in the Royal Field Artillery. He died on 23 September 1919, aged 26, in Frinton-on-Sea of illness as a result of wounds. Awarded the Croix de Guerre.
