Details: Arthur Bamford (1889-1915), born at Highgaet in June 1889, third son of the Revd. Robert Bamford and Blanch E. Bamford (nee Porter) of Lynton House [Abbot's Litten], Long Street, Sherborne, Dorset. Mrs Bamford later remarried and became Mrs B.E. Myers of 89, Bloomfield Avenue, Bath); brother of Robert Bamford (1884-?); and Major Edward Bamford VC (1887-1928).

 

Attended Sherborne Preparatory School.

 

Attended Sherborne School (Town/day boy) September 1903-April 1905.

1911 census, boarding with Margaret Prall at ‘Roslyn’, 250 Kingston Road, Hampton Wick.

 

WW1, Private in the Grenadier Guards. Killed near Loos on 11 October 1915.
