Details: James Verney Bernard (1929-1958), born 30 December 1929 at Bandra, West Mumbai (Bombay), son of J.L. Bernard. Married to Hilary Comyns Bernard (née Atkins). Lived at Wainsford House, Everton, Lymington, Hampshire.


Attended Bigadon Preparatory School, Buckfastleigh, Devon.


Attended Sherborne School (School House), September 1943-March 1947; 6th form.


Special Entry (Engineering), Royal Navy.


Lieutenant, Royal Navy, HMS Falcon.


Killed on 5 December 1958 flying over the Mediterranean.
