Details: Oliver George Norman Stacke (1894-1915), born 28 August 1894 at Tunbridge Wells, Kent, son of Henry Aloysius Stacke (Barrister-at-Law) of 20 Devonshire Terrace, London, formerly of 25 Cleveland Gardens, Hyde Park, London.


Attended Sherborne Preparatory School.


Attended Sherborne School (The Green) January 1909-December 1912; 6th form; Bowen History Prize 1911; Shooting VIII team 1912; House Prefect.


Attended Royal Military College, Sandhurst.


WW1, Lieutenant in the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers, 2nd Bn. Wounded and taken prisoner at Le Cateau on 26 August 1914 but escaped and rejoined his regiment in England. Went to the Front again in February 1915. Killed in action at Festubert, France, on 15 May 1915.
