Calabasitas Del Tigre
97 degrees doesn't feel much like fall or Halloween, but its par for the course in southern California, especially in the San Fernando Valley.
So what better way to spend a hot Sunday afternoon than going through the Corn Maze at Pierce College's annual Halloween Harvest Festival? The festival has a lot more than just the Corn Maze...they have a pumpkin patch for the kiddies, petting zoo, rides, a bouncy house, live entertainment, and of course, a Haunted House -- even a haunted version of the Corn Maze.
Actually, it was literally, nice and cool walking through the rows of corn as much as ten feet high, and not too crowded either.
They also have a nice little farmer's market that sells excellent produce like strawberries, grapes and of course, all shapes and sizes of squash and pumpkins.
These little guys are called Tiger Pumpkins -- not sure how they got that name... :-)
