Full Moon Fever

Big accident on the 405 closed the freeway for hours. Thought I'd take the 10 and try the alternate route up the PCH. So did a million other people.

So I got off at 4th Street in Santa Monica, drove to the pier, paid $7 to park, and killed a couple of hours with my first foray into long exposures with the D80.

This is the Pacific Wheel at Pacific Park on the Pier, the world's first solar-powered Ferris wheel.

Yes, the moon is photoshopped -- it really was just to the left of the ferris wheel when I took this shot, but the long exposure made it look like a white blob in the sky. So, the shot I used was from a little bit earlier when it was first rising.

I was pretty happy with these. Of course, there's about 100 that suck, and currently reside in the trash.
