Radiograph of Ale and Oysters turned 90 degrees

    Unrelated brush strokes noted in the painting raised interest in obtaining an x-radiograph. The painting was taken to Fletcher Allen Hospital in Burlington, Vermont, where they X-rayed the painting and gave us a digital image on a CD and a 1:1 image on film. Another painting campaign, oriented 90 degrees counter clockwise, was discovered. The under-image appears to be of a woman leaning against a window.

    Here, the painting image is turned 90 degrees so that the underlying image is easier to see.
