A few weeks back my iPod died, and I haven't gotten around to doing anything about it (the husband bought it for me last Fall, online from the MacMall rather than directly from Apple). In the mean time I still need something to listen to in the car so I scrounged up some ancient mix tapes. This one was made by a good friend and contains old favorites from Superchunk, The Clash, Billy Bragg, Guided by Voices, April March and more.

toner, DerekSteen, and Princess Valium added this photo to their favorites.

the other night i totally used my walkman to listen to an old mixtape. and then last night i used my discman, which was so cutting edge to me a few years ago!

It's a damned fine one, old tech or not. But I do need to replace the ipod (this is the second that's died on us in under a year).

i prefer quarter inch tape myself. or old 'in car' cartridges. this ipod thing is only a passing phase!

Great shot. Ah, the memories of mix-tapes. I had quite a few that were recorded on this very brand.
