No weapons sign, no guns allowed, omaha, nebraska
LINCOLN, Neb. -- Nebraska's governor signed LB 454 on Wednesday. The bill will allow Nebraskans with a permit to carry a concealed handgun, but residents of Omaha aren't included.
or much of the state, the law would take effect on Jan. 1, 2007. Residents would have to complete training, pass a background check and pay a $100 permit fee. Concealed weapons will still be prohibited in schools, athletic events, churches, hospitals, bars, banks and anywhere else business owners don't want them.
In Omaha, city officials said concealed weapons are still illegal. Most people agree the issue will now be decided in court. But until then, concealed weapons will not be allowed in Omaha.
