Windy Night At The Reservoir

Heading home from a friends house at around 1:00am this morning, I noticed that the clouds were being lit really well by the city lights and I was coming up on the reservoir, so I decided to stop in and try to get something good. Once I got up to the top of the reservoir, it was WINDY! I'd guess 30mph wind with some big gusts here and there so I had a fun time being an anchor for the tripod to keep it still.

While I love the sky in this, I messed up the foreground pretty well. The rocks aren't in focus at all and my camera had some white balance issues. A couple of the images were way off and very red, as you can see, so stitching them together kind of just blended it and didn't help any. I'll have to try this shot again sometime. Really makes me wish I had something like a D700 with better ISO capabilities.

Looks even better when viewed on black!
