Large On White

Sachal Sarmast is one of the most respected Sufi saints of the sub continent. Born 'Abdul Wahab' in 1739 at Daraza Sharif, near Ranipur where this colorful and beautiful mausoleum now stands, Sachal had command over a number of languages. One of his titles 'Shair Haft Zuban' (Poet of Seven languages) pays tribute to this extraordinary quality of the saint.

At a young age, Sachal Sarmast visited Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai, and Shah hinted that this young boy would finish what he had started.
