Seamus, the New Shadow Puppy
The last 6 months has not been good for old shadow dogs. We lost our beloved Chase in November at 16+ years old. And then a little less than three weeks ago, we lost the sweetest dog on earth, Loki. Mesa was devastated because she and Loki were best buds.
I want to introduce Seamus to you, a new shadow puppy that we adopted from the El Paso Humane Society yesterday. Seems appropriate that it was Earth Day :) Seamus is of unknown parentage (he was a stray) and is approximately 10 weeks old. Talk about a smart fellow! Yesterday he learned sit after just a few tries, can shake hands and, after fighting the harness for a bit, walks well on the leash. He also has learned his new name. Very few accidents in the house, so far.
Mesa, my avi, seems to have a better outlook now, more energy and is eating better. She has mostly taken to Seamus, but DOES NOT tolerate her tail being attacked! She keeps him in line - he definitely defers to her. I did find Mesa this morning, however, hiding all her toys under some sacks in my studio :) Some things you just cannot share!
