The complex consists of several Neo-Renaissance buildings on a plot of about 2 hectares, belonging to the administration of the Ministry of Defense
The main building, facing Pohořelec and built in 1890–1893 according to a design by architect Jindřich Fialka; it has four wings, with a two-story main façade, which is symmetrical, has 17 axes and is accentuated in the middle by a three-bay bay topped with a balustrade attic and a gable with a clock,
After the barracks were built, the Land Defense Infantry Regiment ( Landwehrinfanterieregiment Nr.8) No. 8 was stationed here first in 1889–1915
