Madrasa-Mausoleum of Sultan Hasan and Ar-Rifai Mosque

The madrasa-mausoluem of Sultan Hasan (right) was built in 1363 and remains the finest piece of early-Mamluk architecture in Egypt. The Ar-Rifai mosque was built some 500 years later, and houses the remains of the last Shah of Iran as well those of Khedive Ismail, grandson of Muhammad Ali, and King Farouk, Egypt's last monarch.
