Ice Cave with arctic algae

This lava tube is an active ice cave with a layer of arctic algae on the top. Ice goes down 20 feet deep now, but at one point in the 1940s ice miners carved it down to 12 feet. The same private owners of Ice Cave own the access to Bandera Crater and an historic trading post close by.
