Royal Mail Christmas 1979

Royal Mail Postage Stamps Christmas 1979.

Royal Mail postage stamps and first day covers are all from the estate of the late George Worledge who first began collecting as part of his recuperation after he contracted polio as a boy in the 1930s. George worked as a watchmaker and jeweller Cornell & Sons in the town of Maidstone in Kent and was fortunate to be able to also collect used postage stamps from deliveries made to the shop.

He was still collecting when he was in his early eighties and concentrated almost exclusively on British postage stamps. The collection of albums, first day covers and loose stamps have been scanned to share with his remaining family and the rest of the wider digital world. The 150,000 + views on Flickr serves as a testament to his depth of his knowledge and love of stamps.

ALL LIKES AND COMMENTS GREATLY APPRECIATED! THANK YOU.
