That shot of the Falkirk Wheel
Well, it had to be done. The last time I went to the beautiful and (I think) iconic structure that is the falkirk wheel, I went too early for proper darkness (it was summer) so I came back this week and had a proper go.
This was taken with the recently acquired Nikon 17-70 lens, a pretty old lens that used to come bundled with the D70, but had actually turned out to be pretty good.
After I took this shot I went back to the car and drove away... to find that the perimeter gate was closed and padlocked!
A mild panic ensued before I found the security guard walking around. He turned out to be a thoroughly nice guy and gave me a wee look around the marina (got a quite nice shot from it which I will post tomorrow). Thanks to that man.
