Nexus: See-ming Lee / 2008-04-16 / SML Screenshots

It appears that my Facebook network has increased dramatically. Now I have 315 friends. Also noted that I there's now a small Hong Kong cluster on the right.

A geo-based map would tell us a more powerful story... looks like an chemical reaction or splitting!

yes yes yes I know what you're saying. I think that if the nodes are color'ed and potentially animated, it can be useful. Actually the touchgraph facebook browser is quite useful. You should try it!

It's fairly slow on my computer at the moment (which is why I will be getting a new PC soon) :)

It reminds me of this needle and yarn artwork that was popular some time ago - I have no idea what it was called, but it looked like this picture, only a colored version of it.

Thanks for sharing the before/after shots - I haven't really been observing change over time. Some day far in the future, I'll have an animated/temporal version of this. Right now Nexus is overwriting all the old data.

I'd like to try it for literature, too (in addition to all the 'real' social networks)

Awesome. It's strangely interesting that I've located many authors of the apps after posting screenshots of the results!

network overtime would be very useful. I look forward to seeing it!

    Cheers,
    See-ming
