I can see where this moth gets it's name. It really did look like a hummingbird flitting through these wild BeeBalm flowers. I had never seen one before, this one was almost 3 inches long and for at least the first couple minutes had me convinced it really was a hummingbird. It's amazing how similar their characteristics are in flight. Besides who expects to see a huge moth feeding on nectar in the middle of a bright sunny afternoon?
