55 Chevy Bel Air Sport Coupe Frame Off Restoration and it's fluke story
Imagine you are out in the sticks, farm country, one of the few blacktop roads in the area...
Now imagine your out for a short fall color tour after work before it gets to dark and ahead of you on the road you see what appears to be a pancake vehicle with 2 men sticking out of the tires...
When we got closer we found this restoration and 2 men trying to move it down the road by rolling the tires by hand, one on each front tire. They had to shoulder the tires on each side to turn them a little bit after each push of the tires.
The chain on the front was an attempt to pull it slowly with a small tractor, which started crimping the front fender whatchacallit so wouldn't work. That also explained an abandoned old tractor we saw on the side of a crossroad road not too long before this.
We pulled off and asked if we could snap a couple pics and Bud helped them roll it the rest of the way home and into their garage. They were really nice people the guys talked shop for a bit while I wandered around taking pictures of lichen on old lantern posts.
By the time they were done it was too dark for pictures of fall colors and we meandered our way back home. Quite an interesting spontaneous road trip.
