Lookin' for a Lady

I saw this Black-chinned guy on a "date" with a gal of a different species (Anna's) a while back, which apparently is just not done! I currently have several youngsters in the yard who display characteristics of two different species, (and not just the two in question) so I'm going to do a little science project here, on the outside chance they are hybrids.

I have a lot of hummer shots stashed, as I didn't want to bore my friends with too many of them, but I'm going to start posting ones of known species. If some of the youngsters are indeed rare hybrids, I'll get help identifying them, but I want to illustrate here what the straight-up species look like, as sort of a basis for comparison.

So please bear with me, and don't feel obligated to comment; I realize that after a while there's only so much you can say about this sort of hummer shot, which of course can only be credited to a great camera and sheer luck!
