Working until Sundown
A Dassanech woman bringing in the last load of firewood at sunset. I was walking back to the boat and I think this was the last shot I took of the day. There is a story behind this one too. I was walking to the boat having just finished with the Dimi and photographing a few woman in the village in late afternoon light. (You can see some of them below). As usual there were a few kids following me out (there always was anywhere from 2 - 12 kids following your every move in just about any village) She crossed in front of me and I saw the shot developing in front of me so I waited a few seconds until she was in a good spot and brought the camera up to shoot and of course the kids all started to yell something. "Probably hey this guy is taking your picture!" I got two shots off before she whipped her head around and all of the wood fell to the ground. I felt bad so I carried it to her hut which really got everyone laughing (mostly at me). I probably embarrassed her more then I helped looking back on it because It think they were giving her a hard time too for letting me.
