skookum church
The Skookumchuck Church of the Holy Cross was declared a National Historic Site in 1981.

The Church was built by members of the Douglas, Skatin and Samahquam Bands between 1895 and 1906.

Aside from the painted glass, which was ordered from Italy, the Church was built with local materials, by local craftsmen.

Stunning beauty in the middle of remote wilderness.
