All Saints Day
Last year at this time I was walking through Père Lachaise cemetery half a world away. It was beautiful in its autumn splendor and colorful with chrysanthemums of remembrance for All Saints Day. This year I am wandering much nearer my own turf and thinking again of resting places and an amazingly grace-filled person recently gone. This one is for you Cal. Your sincere care and assistance to so many newcomers to this country who suffered difficult circumstances will ripple on for generations, as will your love for your dear family and the gentle influence you had upon your friends in the way your lived your life with deep integrity and a heart for serving others.
