Roughting heron

Roughting Linn waterfall:

I found this waterfall through a location description on Kevin Allan's blog - thanks Kevin, very useful!


This is a very well-hidden waterfall in Northumberland; remarkably close to parking, but you need to know just where it is.


There was a large, fallen tree across the pool beneath the fall when I was there, so I composed a detail of the centre of the falls and thought at the time that it was rather like a heron, with its head out and down to the left... perhaps a bit fanciful, but the idea stuck.
