Firstly: my apologies for the extended outage on viewing and commenting on images - I've been travelling for the last several weeks. I shall catch up with the backlog eventually, I hope!
I was travelling light; this wasn't at all a photographic trip, so no tripod and only a couple of small, light lenses.
This image was made leaning against a wall in the canyon. There are no light shafts at this time of year, and not really an awful lot of light at all, but this little piece of tumbleweed was glowing beautifully and the space around it produced what I thought was a very 'rich' darkness and a pleasing spotlight effect.
