More forays into my 'Malaysia' archives and the world of HDR. This is the mosque at Putrajaya and is a really impressive structure that can clearly be seen from the air. This shot was taken a few steps away from and to the right of where the previous image was shot. I processed it slightly differently, wanting to concentrate on the wonderful warm colours offered up by the stonework.
As usual, I processed this quite strongly in Photomatix which gave me some latitude when I brought it across into Photoshop. I have always liked a slightly desaturated scene, so that is what I did here; first a global desaturation adjustment layer, and then individual adjustments on the reds, blues and yellows in the scene, just to balance things. That was followed by a colour balance adjustment layer just to emphasise and de-emphasise certain aspects of the image.
Although the perspective distortion is quite severe in this image due to the 10-20mm lens I was using, I felt that it added a little drama to the scene, and so didn't bother to correct it.
