2015 Women of the World Breakfast
On December 9, over 300 leaders from philanthropy, media, business and the nonprofit sector gathered at the Four Seasons Hotel for Seattle International Foundation’s 6th annual Women of the World Breakfast. This annual event celebrates Washington State’s role in global development, and highlights leading Washington-based organizations working to advance the rights of women and girls worldwide.

Featured speakers included, Dr. Kiran Bedi, India’s first and highest ranking female police officer and renowned social activist, and Krishna Sarkar, beneficiary of New Light in Kolkata, India. Sharing the dias were Bill Neukom, Founder and CEO of the World Justice Project, and his daughter, Gillian Neukom Toledo, Curriculum Coordinator at The Valley School. The program also featured traditional Latin music by Seattle-based group, Correo Aereo.

This year, inspired Seattle “Global GiveTogether” philanthropists, in partnership with Seattle Foundation and Seattle International Foundation, announced over $190,000 in grants for select nonprofits working toward empowering women and girls worldwide.
