Exota | by screenpunk

few days back i took a picture of a little red car with an Exota logo on the side .. in the sixtees Exota was a lemonade factory in Holland that got ruined by a television program (Vara/Ombudsman/Marcel van Dam) that said that the soda bottles exploded in the sun .. they showed footage of a bottle popping and sales figures of the factory dropped to a level that bankrupted in 1972 .. end of the nineties former Exota once again sued Vara/Marcel van Dam because they faked the explosion footage

in the back of my mind it wondered why somebody would decorate a car with the Exota logo except for being retro until this morning ms Punk showed up with a stenciled logo on a brown paper bag .. it turns out Exota now is a shop in Amsterdam that uses the name and myth from the old Exploda for selling colorful gowns and skirts to ladies

visit (they really should work on it)

or read about the Exota affair on wikipedia (dutch only, dank voor de link Maurits)
