Hi, I'm an admin for a group called 中国.北京.燕山, and we'd love to have this added to the group!

Thanks for the Zhoukoudian text, quite interesting to read, especially the scientific part.

Please allow one more story on the peking man site:
The place was formerly known as Dragon Hill. Dragon, because of the frequent finds of pretty huge bones in and around the cave, bones that couldnt belong to any known animal. Hence people took them for dragon bones and, as these did match very well with some ideas of chinese medicine, dug for more and probably made a good business on that.
This came to a halt only after some scientists got notice of this and revealed that the "dragon" bones were actually what is left from different kinds of ice age animals (which are btw also nicely displayed in the museum park).
The rich assembly of ice age fauna bones was the initial reason for the scientists to start excavating, with which they eventually brought peking man back to light.
