Empire State Plaza - Albany - Wallace K. Harrison

View from under the "Egg" - a strange semi-spherical concrete build on Wallace Harrison's Empire State Plaza, a complex of government building in Albany, New York.

Although controversial for displacing almost 9,000 people from a working class neighbourhood of Albany and its dominating, in some aspects fascist architectural style, the Empire State Plaza was one of the most exciting architectural sites I've visited in a long time. The sheer scale and monumentality of these buildings was astounding - unfortunately the weather was miserable but it was still well worth the visit.
