Where the West Side Highway ends

Newer Older

The 20-40mph winds blowing at the tip of Manhattan were strong enough to get my Trooper to lift the D40x.

On both sides of this "luxury" apartment building we see entrances to the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel. Ground zero is located in the background a few blocks up.

Great light & shadow and excellent clouds. Worth the bluster, I'd say. Usually I don't like the sun behind the camera, but this sun is far enough L looking up that canyon that it works beautifully.

I can just imagine the strength of that wind tunnel. Great shot here!

The light and clouds really make the picture. As usual the exposure is really outstanding!

    Thanks all!

Despite the winds, the shoot was a lot of fun. I was on a pier that had buildings to shield the wind. Without that shield I may not have been able to stay out as long as I did.

Love this perspective. I would like to get into KAP, but building a rig seems like a daunting task.

  15. scottdunn 76 months ago | reply

Building the rig was a hassle for me because I don't have a garage, work shop, lots of tools, etc. But the kits at brooxes.com make it pretty easy. Even then I spent a good 4 hours or so putting it all together.
