Used to be Blue [SeptemberChallenge2009-03]

Shot for PhotoChallenge.org September 2009 Challenge: a month of black-and-whites.

I've shot this building several times before; it's just across the street from my office, and is the first thing to catch my eye on days with interesting cloud patterns. I really liked the color version of this also; maybe I'll post it tomorrow for comparison.

    Looks nice Large On Black

Couldn't tell what this was in the thumbnail! Wow! Great light! :)

Wow, this is an intense BW. The reflections are spot on yet the horizontal lines break it up give a surreal feel. This is excellent!

All right DMU: today it was either this or the butterfly... let 'er rip.

Well done hit I keep gettingbugged by the left of the frame - it seems to be crowding the image

I wish I could go wider from this angle, I was backed up against a fence. Could move farther down the sidewalk but then I'm shooting a different side of the building (like this).

so that's what makes the clouds SAVE

      everyone takes cliche photos sometimes

the trick is not submitting them to DMU

I like the comp and the subject, but the framing seems off to me. It sucks that you're up against a fence for the shot. Maybe bring the right edge in to match the left side?

I want to like it but there are too many reflections.

Camouflage building. Left and right edge of the building should be centered on the sides of the frame.

OK, I pulled the original file up and tried cropping to make the edges match. It still sucks. The only choice would be to re-shoot from another spot (or with a wider lens... on my Christmas wish-list).
