Yale & Towne Collection at the Stamford Museum
The Yale & Towne lock company assembled an expansive, important collection of locks over the course of ~90 years. It toured the country in the 50s, then, in the early 1960s, the collection was divided into 3 parts, 2/3rds wound up in private hands, and this third was donated to the Stamford Museum and Nature Center. The Stamford Museum quite graciously let me spend a day photographing the collection.

And, great news, another 3rd has found its way into the collections of the Museum of Science & Industry in Chicago. I'm very proud to be working on studying and telling the story of this incredible collection.
