Black Lands End in a silver Pacific
Part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, the promontory of Lands End sticks out into what the Spanish named "La Bocca del Puerto de San Francisco" - like a black mass of land in a sea of silver. One can distinguish some park visitors on the rocks, watching the aerial acrobatics of the Blue Angels during Fleet Week 2012.
Lands End is a fabled area with a labyrinth and a popular destination for walkers. In the year 2000 and after, it was part of a walk I had been leading for visitors of this national park as docent for the NPS, themed around history in this westernmost area of San Francisco: "Legends of Lands End!"
