Lennies attack the border between San Francisco's Central and Outer Richmond!

    Newer Older

These clouds reminded me of a scene of "Mars Attacks"–or right out of a cheesy science-fiction movie–but it is simply an image of 25th Avenue taken from Geary Boulevard in San Francisco, looking North towards the mountains of Marin County. Quite "sGeary" anyway, wouldn't you say?

I used the Antique Effect function in iPhoto as I felt the colors looked more dramatic.

stevejr, you are right about the clouds:
      en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Altocumulus_Lenticularis

They're pretty rare in San Francisco, this is the first photo of one I have seen in The City.

      Great shot and interesting colors!

Beautiful scene, those very special cloudformations give it an extra dimension. TWTME.

very nice; like the filter effect you used-
good to see how little the outer richmond has changed from when i was there; at least this corner.

my favorite city in the whole world; I recognized it by the Geary sign. great use of effect. would be an interesting enough photo, but great with those clouds (they don't even look like coastal clouds to me!), and that traffic light really adds to it, too! well done! seen in The Big Sky.
the mountain in the background, rather than the bay, might fool somepeople, but I'm from there, and know SF anywhere!
