Marin Headlands: Still the same!
This shot was taken from the Lands End area of San Francisco, on the Lincoln Golf Course to be exact. An old photo image dating from the Fifties shows that not much has changed.
On the left, Point Bonita shows where the waves break; on the postcard, the peak of Mount Tamalpais (Mount Tam) is covered in clouds, it was clearly visible when I took the photo.
Thanks to the protection of the lands within the Golden Gate National Recreation Area–a national park– the other side of the San Francisco Straits, just outside the Golden Gate, looks much the same as it did 100 years ago! That's just opposite of a metropolis, folks!
I will see if I can get an even more exact picture uploaded later, which could show more details, but it will never be as good as Ansel Adams'...
