San Francisco's Bay Bridge, the old and new...
A somewhat unusual view of the Bay Bridge–which closed early this morning for the long Labor Day weekend–and the lighthouse near Treasure Island, with the keeper's residence hiding beneath the trees; it now serves as a dwelling for Coast Guard admirals.
The Yerba Buena Lighthouse was first lit in 1875 and the light is still operational. The lighthouse is on the National Register of Historic Places:
I took this image from the piers on the San Francisco's side of the Bay, during a particularly foggy morning (or was it hazy from the smoke of the L.A. fires?) The grey-in-grey colors are almost hiding all details of the East Bay.
