The Bilbao/Spain-built tall ship is docked presently at San Francisco's Embarcadero–alongside Pier 27–as part of an ambassador tour; the AMR Cuauhtémoc set sail six months ago visiting Hawaii, China, South Korea, Russia and Japan. The voyage commemorated the longtime trade-route between Mexico and Asia known as the Nao of China.
She carries the proud tradition of the Mexican seafarers to a port that once belonged to Mexico. San Francisco at that time was named "Yerba Buena."
