A nice portrait Duncan, but perhaps the knee is a bit distracting. She looks very photogenic.

Definately Jim, wouldnt say one of my best....more impressed with sharpness given the 1/20th shutter speed.

Other than a slight WB adjustment, it's straight from camera.

Cool shot at a high ISO with it wide open. Leaves my old D70 in its wake. Note to self - buy more expensive gear.

Not sure if the settings were there when I looked at it or not. You have a valid point though. It is or seems very sharp (given I can't get large) at those settings.
That''s the benefit of ISO. I would be interested to see an ISO/non-ISO shot comparison of the same subject, same conditions.

Yeah I may have added them after Jim.Apologies. The thing about this lens is the combination of the f/2 and the Image Stabilisation at low shutter speeds.

Well Duncan all makes for a superb bit of glass. Can't wait to see some more shots.

You don't ask for a little girl to just put her knee down for a second, when you see such a good shot, and press the shutter release!

      surfxdog And note it's a Canon - Not a Nikon ;)

      Schoolbookdepository Great lens Duncan!

I think he knew Jeff, he made a comment about leaving his D70 ( nikon) in its wake.

    11. surfxdog 74 months ago | reply

Thankyou Duncan for clearing that up. I know you have a mighty fine canon, and some mighty fine lenses which includes the 200L. And yes it does leave my camera (nikon D70) way behind but that's O.K. I get to look at the cool shots you take. So, thanks.

Simply gorgeous. That thing would make a great tool for low light candids. Except I've found that the bigger the lens you point at people the more they get upset. That thing has a 100mm objective. Same as my 400 DO. If I point at someone with a big honker like that they're going to act as if they'd been menaced with a death ray.
