Change Their Lives 2015
17th Annual Change Their Lives gala brought together fine food, scenic San Diego bay, and more than 550 philanthropic leaders for an evening that benefited foster youth and children and families affected by family violence. A unique gathering of 14 renowned San Diego chefs created cuisine from four regions for a “Ports of Call” themed event.

Event chairs San Diego Supervisor Greg Cox, Chula Vista Mayor Mary Casillas Salas and National City Mayor Ron Morrison joined guests for South Bay Community Services’ sold out gala on Saturday, September 19, 2015.

Chefs for the evening included Flor Franco (Contemporary Cuisine), Martin Gonzalez (Acqua Al 2), Isabel Cruz (Barrio Star), Miguel Valdez (Tabletop Commons), Mario Medina (Bernini’s Bistro), Javier Plascencia (Bracero Cocina de Raiz), Jamie Chavez (Sirena Gourmet Latin Seafood), Priscilla Curiel (Talavera Azul), Felipe Raul Lopez Torres (Private Chef), Pascal Lorange (Crudo), Karla Navarro (Private Chef), Bianca Castro Cerio T. (Biscottis), Meredith Manee (1500 Ocean) and James Montejano (La Valencia Hotel).

Tommy Sablan, KyXy 96.5 Radio, charmed guests as the event’s emcee and Clint Bell led the live auction program where a 100% of the proceeds benefited foster youth transitional housing; Mi Escuelita Therapeutic Preschool, the only one of its kind in San Diego County for children who have been victims of abuse and domestic violence; and services and emergency housing for victims of domestic violence.
