Hawa Mahal

The Palace of the Winds constructed using pink sandstone. A royal solution for staying cool during the hot summers of Rajasthan! The Hawa Mahal is a tall facade with windows and balconies that provide an excellent system of cross ventilation.

The Hawa Mahal, along with the Jantar Mantar, is an icon of Jaipur. The palace was built by Sawai Pratap Singh in 1799. The shape of the palace was modeled after the crown of Lord Krishna.
