Bactrian Camel, "Mongo"

He looks like he might have been watching or at least anticipating what was going to happen next, because soon after I took this shot, I heard a voice behind me say, "Hello, Mongo!" and I turned around to see a guy in a white T-shirt walking toward the enclosure and Mongo walking toward him, obviously glad to see him. It was a very touching scene as Mongo acted like a 2,000 lb puppy. I had to ask the guy why Mongo was so glad to see him and he replied, "Oh, I work here. I stop by here, twice a day, to say good morning and good night." He said that Mongo liked it when people talked to him. I could tell that the love is mutual, but I was surprised to find out that he is a Zoo employee, because of his lack of a uniform.

Later, while researching this Camel on the Internet, I came across this video and lo and behold, there was the same guy, helping Mongo get rid of his winter coat. I'm going to try talking to Mongo, next time I see him. He's so cute, a term I don't think most people associate with such a huge, funny-looking animal.

I just figured out at work, this morning, that the Fullscreen thing isn't available in Internet Explorer, even though it is in Firefox and Safari. Too bad. This image is awesome in Fullscreen, even if I do say so myself.
