Market Diner, 1970's (Ahem, 1980's...see Varnsen1)

Hell's Kitchen "Market Diner". The diner was a favorite haunt of local bartenders and bar patrons looking for a meal after work when the bars closed at 4am...sometimes later. Albeit illegal it to remain open after 4am, the law was often not enforced by the local police who frequented the bars.

"Westies" ate here too. If you don't know what a "Westie" is, you're not a Native NY'er.

Those were the days when cops, priests and gangsters all sat and drank at the same bar.
