    hiya a! here's the vinaigrette ingredients, but you know you can add your special touch (maybe chili paste? ooh, that would be awesome):
    juice remaining from a segmented blood orange, plus one whole one if not particularly juicy
    a couple tablespoonfuls of olive oil and red wine vinegar
    salt and white pepper to taste
    a tiny glop of a good honey
    a light dusting of fennel pollen, if available

    hi luke! (laughing) i don't know if hearts of palm and blood oranges are ever going to become staples in the uk. hearts of palm are actually the innards of a palm or palmetto tree. they are quite sweet and mild tasting, but i can't think of anything that comes close. blood oranges are oranges with a deep red flesh that first came about as a mutation in the 17th c. in sicily. the colour is fantastic, but all in all, it's still just an orange :-)
