Beautiful colors and contrasts. The control of the exposure is very good.

Magical... like a sea of faces. The colours and shapes are similar but distinct.

Thanks all for your nice words!

I am a bit surprised by the result. I started with quite flat slide scan that had a magenta cast. After I set levels in Photoshop, colors jumped up and the cast was gone, I adjusted curves, then I touched the scan with haze cutting sharpening brush and here we are. I shot this just minutes before sun went down, so there was an orange light everywhere. I believe in this case camera saw more than my eyes.

It's so beautiful - like a fantasy land. But, it's real and once again you bring it for to share, Serge.

    Fabulous work.

These Palouse images are very nice...they remind me of pictures I have seen of Tuscany.

Can you tell me what scanner you use for your medium format images?

  13. sergeant 114 months ago | reply

f8&bthere: I am scanning on Minolta Dimage MultiPro scanner. Hunted it down on EBay for $1200. I tried flatbed scanners, but returned them back, it is way too soft.

Wow, that makes me miss home. I like the detail on the close field; most Palouse pictures either show the rolling hills in the distance or close up details, but you showed both.

I realy love this picture. It is a great representation of the beauty of the Palouse.
